Dear Evan Hansen (2021)

Though Ben Platt gives his all, and you can see signs as to why Dean Evan Hansen cleaned up on Broadway in 2017, Stephen Chbosky’s film adaptation is a joyless slog to sit through, with few moments of uplift drowned out by more melodramatic and emotional ones.
