SIFF turns 8...days...old...and invites some new people to the party. The Short Films. Beginning today, and over Memorial Day weekend, the ShortsFest integrates into the SIFF events and festivities, unleashing over 150 short films over the course of four days. The films will be packaged together in feature-length presentations and, like the rest of SIFF, represent bold and innovative ideas from all corners of the globe. 

The feature films also continue to give audiences much to laugh, cry, and shake their heads at. A big slate arrives this weekend and below, you'll see what Day 8 has to offer you!

Note: SIFF screenings move from the Majestic Bay in Ballard to Shoreline Community College, north of Seattle, beginning tomorrow, May 25.

LOVE, GILDA | 84 Minutes - This highly anticipated and talked about documentary, regarding legendary comedienne Gilda Radner, arrives at SIFF with a touching tribute, told through archival footage, interviews, and audio recordings. Though Radner succumbed

MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. | 94 Minutes - Sri Lankan hip-hop artist and activist M.I.A. turns over her personal video diaries for a raucous documentary on the "Paper Planes" singer by director Stephen Loveridge.

SHORTSFEST OPENING NIGHT | 83 Minutes - ShortsFest showcases seven stellar short films from around the world, touching on themes of race relations, overcoming obstacles, and societal views and interactions. A second presentation, ALTShorts, features a dozen experimental, avant-garde, and unconventional short films which challenge the mind and eye.

STREAKER | 93 Minutes - This absurd comedy from Switzerland tells the story of a part-time teacher and barber who create a team of streakers to interrupt soccer matches, and create a betting ring - not on the teams, but on how long the streakers can stay on the field.
