Visually stunning, if rather light factually, “Hubble 3D” is an IMAX feature which finally hit home video more than a year after it debuted in IMAX theaters. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, “Hubble 3D” is a simplified look at the servicing mission for the Hubble Space Telescope that 7 astronauts took part in aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis in 2009. 

As expected, the visual presentation is unparalleled and you easily become mesmerized and intoxicated by how beautiful and breathtaking the images happen to be. However, you may not learn a whole lot about the Hubble telescope or anything other than a surface level indication of the purpose of the 2009 trip. So, like many IMAX documentary shorts, the film is engaging and impressive while lacking in significant substance.

SHOULD I SEE IT?

YES 

Space aficionados and those familiar with Atlantis’ mission will be amazed at the visuals the crew captured. There are views of the universe which are awe-inspiring and eternally amazing.

For those with a passing interest in the topic, the lack of deeper content will be of no issue.

NO  

This may prove to just not be of interest in those not inclined to take an interest in space-related topics.

The dryness and lack of insightful content may raise the boredom level of this, even at a stilted 40 minutes,
